June 15, 2002 : What I did on my late Spring Vacation
Greetings all you Extreme Weezils Fans! Although I have been home all last week, I have not done much in the way of site updates, or at least as much as I had planned to. What did I do all week, you ask? Well, since you asked ... Besides working on building my muscles, I've been building my brain; two near-obsessions for me these days. All last week I devoted as much time as possible learning some more advanced aspects of graphic design and more about the programs I use to create my own digital art. There is an abundance of free information online, but I prefer the comfort of holding a book in my hands and taking notes. Writing things down helps me learn - something I discovered in pharmacy school. |

I have received a virus a day almost from my ferrets@... email address so, it saddens me to say, that I must restrict contact to using my FEEDBACK page. I will update that right now to reflect as such...

May 15, 2002 It is actually around midnight, technically the night BEFORE my birthday, but that does not stop me from taking stock of the true gifts I already have in my life... Besides the eight ferrets, two cats, and one husband living with me in a beautiful home, my grandparents are staying with us all this week.
Of course for months prior to their visit I worried about what they would think about the ferrets. After all, how many people in general never mind World War II veterans and The Great Depression survivors could even FATHOM the idea of having eight ferrets in the house... |
May 8, 2002 The Day After. At around 1am this morning, my husband woke me up as he was joining me in bed with the somewhat predictable news that Bandit had ALREADY removed his bandage! The bandage that was supposed to be on for THREE WEEKS didn't even last TWELVE HOURS. That's our boy! Seriously, I'm not sure what vets do in situations like this. It's not like we were thrilled with the idea that Bandit had to wear what effectively mimics a corset. Picture this: the ferret you see here, in his full five pounds of glory, with an ace-bandadge-like corset tightly wrapped around his middle... May 7, 2002 |
Bonzai and Blizzard's First Vet Visit ... The Extreme Weezls Meet their New Doc It has taken us months of research and hours of looking to find a new vet for the Extreme Weezils. We went from Dr. Kamaka in Woodinville, to Dr. Deeb in Seattle, and now over to Marysville Animal Hospital's Dr. David E. [like a typical medical professional, he cannot write legibly to save a life, of course I'm no exception ...]
Since I was laid up all day [up at 4pm Friday afternoon, back to sleep off and on until 8:30pm - do you think I slept tonight?] I was unable to accompany our babies to their visit. However, I was told all about it in detail, and here is what was found:

Amidst the Computer Chaos ... April 20, 2002 ... 3:27AM So far I have experienced the following in the last two months:
... Weezil Cam died for no apparent reason, and after days of messing around with it we come to the conclusion that the only option left is to: .... wipe my entire hard drive clean and reinstall all my software, files, etc. I ended up doing this TWICE within a five day period, only to have Weezil Cam still not working ... Attempting to install and configure a different webcam that we had hanging around the house and will get to it when I'm not working, busy, or in bed with a raging migraine headache ... along with the lack of Weezil Cam, my entire Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer setup is corrupt, resulting in frequent crashes of both programs ... today was the day I was going to get everything done so I could enjoy my weekend off. I ended up with a migraine that had me in bed from midnight last night to almost 4pm Friday afternoon! Hence, I am awake less than twelve hours later, my entire sleep cycle ruined for a few days... So, here I sit, cat [Dusty] on lap, in front of my computer for some quiet time. The sun is just starting to rise here on the West Coast - my favorite time of day! My husband just came shuffling out from all the way down the other end of the house, where the master bedroom is, to find out why on Earth I was NOT in bed. I'm spending some quiet time with Dusty, the chirping birds outside, the sunrise, and the waning darkness.... |
