... This ferret website was finally ready for uploading, ready for the first public eyes ... The day I announced the site 'officially' open, my server upgraded several applications, causing files to be deleted and barring me from accessing the site in order to fix this ...
... Basil, Sasha, and Raven join our fuzzy family. Now our Frantic Ferret Frenzy was complete, we had reached critical mass of Extreme Weezils. All doubts, as slight as they were, dissipated instantly even though my family became convinced I had gone utterly insane ...

... All shots are finished and Bandit and Blitz are weighed. We took the two of them along to keep Raven company and to find out if they were as large as we thought. Bandit tipped the scale at 4.11lbs. with his brother Blitz not far behind at 4.02lbs ... time to cut down on the treats!
... We had been discussing all summer how we were going to check out the local ferret shelter IF we were to add to our ferret family. The IF turned into WHEN, which metamorphosed to WHEN DO WE LEAVE ...
... On the 10th Bandit starting 'schlurping' while breathing. Because we had read a lot about possible ferret illnesses beforehand, we knew that they could catch some kind of cold virus. After just a half an hour, Bandit seemed to get significantly worse; whining softly with every other labored breath.... It was off to the emergency room! I stayed behind to watch all the other ferrets, just in case they started getting sick as well. James spent four hours with Bandit as he was checked over, x-rayed, and put in an oxygen tank... Scary! Bandit recovered nicely after five days of antibiotics (to prevent secondary infection, which is common in ferrets having a respiratory virus) and lots of special attention.

... My husband and I went on a week vacation to visit my family in Boston, hiring a pet sitter for our five fuzzies.
We got a phone call from our pet sitter: a ferret was missing. Panicked, we called my mother-in-law who lives about a half an hour away to drive over and help look for the renegade weasel. It turns out that minutes after we did so, the pet sitter found Blitz, bleary -eyed and yawning, emerging from under the bed to see what all the commotion was about. We tried to enjoy the rest of our time away, but the notion of ferrets with escape on the brain would not recede...
... Bear decided to go digging in the Sun Laundry Detergent Powder box that all three ferrets have always ignored (until now.)
James had suddenly decided to pick up the open powdered soap box on the floor when he let the boys out of The Ferret Room. The box seemed significantly heavier than usual, and one quick glance inside revealed the reason why: Bear had virtually completely dug himself into the middle of the powdered soap and was still digging!! Quickly we extracted him from the box and carried him to the kitchen sink - Bear was COVERED with the powder - and ran him under the water as long as he would stand it. After toweling him off and placing him back in the Ferret Room (of course Bear could not figure out what was going on and why he had to 'go back') I ran back to the soap box to make sure it finally got put where it belonged, away from curious fuzzies, and was just in time to see Bandit starting to stick his head and front paws in there to see what his brother had discovered that must be so cool!
... The Boys get their first 'official' bath (using actual ferret soap instead of just water.)
... Blitz joins the family. We rationalized that he could keep either Bear or Bandit company when the other was sleeping, or give them another playmate. It is easy to create rational sounding reasons for fuzzy math! Not wanting to come home with any more ferrets than we planned, James went to the pet store around the corner alone, entrusted to him the job of picking one out.
... Bear and Bandit come home with us! We went to the pet store 'just to have a look' at the ferrets my husband told me about. I knew before we even walked out the door that we would not be returning empty handed, and I was spot on! This day began our never ending quest for ferret information, especially since the girl at the pet store seemed to either not really know much about ferrets.
